The FEITIAN VC-100E is an OATH-HOTP (event-based) display card, 85.6 x 54 x 0.84 mm, that generates one-time passwords for two-factor authentication and works offline once set up. It is designed for organizations on DUO Security, ESET Secure Authentication, PingID and the other HOTP services listed below, and its battery is rated for a life cycle above five years.

EPD (E-Ink Printed Display) Option

Seed Delivery

By default, FEITIAN will deliver OTP Seed/secret files to the contact email address on the order, shortly after we ship the order. If a different email is required or a different encoding format, please add a specific note to the order.

We will send two emails, one containing the encrypted seed files, another the password to decrypt.

Compatibility and Use Cases

The VC-100E works with the services listed above. It does not work with Microsoft Azure AD, Azure MFA or Microsoft Entra ID: use the VC-200E time-based card there. Typical uses:

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the VC-100E work with Microsoft Entra ID or Azure MFA?

No. VC-100E cards do not work with Microsoft Azure AD, Microsoft Azure MFA or Microsoft Entra ID. For those, use the VC-200E time-based (TOTP) card or the C200 token.

Does the VC-100E work with DUO Security?

Yes. DUO Security is on the VC-100E compatibility list. The default seed format, Hex/Plaintext, works with Duo Security and PingID.

How does an event-based (HOTP) card differ from a time-based one?

An event-based card runs the OATH-HOTP algorithm on a shared secret and a counter, so it needs no clock or network connection. Time-based (TOTP) cards such as the VC-200E create codes from the current time instead.

How long does the VC-100E battery last?

Thanks to its low power consumption chip, the card is rated for a life cycle above five years. An EPD (E-Ink Printed Display) option lowers energy use further.

How are the VC-100E seed files delivered?

FEITIAN emails the encrypted seed files to the contact address on the order shortly after shipping, and sends the decryption password in a second email. The default format for HOTP cards is Hexadecimal/Plaintext; PSKC is available for ESET. If you need a different email address or format, add a note to your order.
